Inaki Berenguer
, CEO and Co-Founder, CoverWallet

Inaki is cofounder and CEO of CoverWallet, a tech startup reinventing insurance for small businesses. CoverWallet started in NY in 2015 and has raised over $30M from top VCs and currently employs 100 people mainly in digital marketing, product, engineering and design roles.

Before he was cofounder and CEO of Contactive, a big data platform acquired by Thinkingphones. Prior to that he was cofounder and CEO of Pixable (50 employees, 10 million users), a tech startup acquired for $30MM by SingTel. He has also worked at McKinsey & Co and Microsoft Corporate Strategy. 

Inaki completed Master and PhD degrees in Engineering at Cambridge University (UK), an MBA at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and spent two years as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University, NY.


Igor Best-Devereux
, President and CEO, eReinsure, Inc

Igor’s career has encompassed risk analysis, insurance and technology – with companies including Anistics, Alexander Howden and US Robotics. He founded eReinsure in 1999 when InsurTech companies were still called B2B dotcoms. After initially self-funding the start-up, Igor raised three rounds of venture capital from strategic and venture investors to launch the eReinsure platform with major insurance carriers, reinsurers and reinsurance brokers in 2001. Since then, eReinsure’s patented “negotiation” process has become the most widely used digital distribution technology for reinsurance with over 20,000 reinsurance professionals registered to use eReinsure technology at more than 300 companies in 85 countries. eReinsure was purchased by AmWINS Group Inc., in 2013.


Chris Cheatham, CEO, RiskGenius

Chris is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of RiskGenius. He has been in this position since January 2012.

RiskGenius is on a mission to organize the world’s insurance policy information. As CEO, Chris leads a team focused on developing the RiskGenius product. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, the RiskGenius platform breaks insurance policies into structured data and serves it up basd on a user workflow.

Chris has more than 10 years of insurance experience. He served as a claim insurance attorney for five years in Washington, D.C. before launching the company. RiskGenius was selected as the 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year by the EIA and the product has been called “The Google of Insurance.”

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree in politic science from the University of Kansas and a juris doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.


Max Chee, Head of Technology Growth, Aquiline Capital Partners

Max joined Aquiline in 2017 and heads Aquiline Technology Growth. He has over 17 years of private equity and venture capital investing experience. Prior to Aquiline, Max was a Managing Partner at Millennium Technology Value Partners, where he led more than 20 investments at all stages across consumer, enterprise, and financial technology, from early growth to pre-IPO companies. Previously, he led technology growth investments for Mellon's Private Equity Group and worked at Salomon Brothers in the Financial Institutions Group in New York and Corporate Finance in Hong Kong. Max is a member of the Board of Directors of Carpe Data. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University in Canada and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Ted Devine, CEO, Insureon 

Ted is the CEO of Insureon, the nation’s leading online small-business insurance agency. Prior to joining Insureon, Devine held several senior executive leadership positions at Aon Corporation, including President of Aon Risk Services, which boasts more than $5 billion in revenue and 28,000 employees worldwide, and CEO of Aon Re. Before joining Aon, Devine spent 12 years as Director of McKinsey & Company, helping improve the performance of Fortune 500 companies.


Richard Hartley, CEO and Co-Founder, Cytora

Richard Hartley is co-founder and CEO of Cytora, a tech startup that enables commercial insurers to achieve improved loss ratios and grow premium using artificial intelligence and external data. Cytora was spun out of the University of Cambridge and is headquartered in London.

Previously, Richard worked in product strategy at eBaoTech in Shanghai - a cloud technology vendor to the insurance industry. Richard holds a BA from the University of Manchester and a Masters in Political Science from the University College London.


Lisa Henderson, Chief Strategist Casualty Products and Insurtech, Milliman

Lisa Henderson is responsible for P&C software and Insurtech Consulting. Lisa previously served as a CEO and other executive level positions in several technology startups. She has raised over $30M in capital and two of her companies each had a 14x ROI. Lisa is an E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year.


Oleg Ilichev, Head of Investments and Business Development, Argo Digital

Oleg Ilichev is Head of Investments and Business Development at Argo Digital, a tech product development and early stage investing arm of Argo Group, an international specialty P&C insurance and reinsurance carrier. The fintech focused division is responsible for building software products internally and investing in venture and growth equity businesses externally.  The digital team creates and validates customer-first experiences to optimize the core business, while exploring disruptive opportunities that can scale. Previously, Oleg held a variety of positions at Argo Group, including SVP & CFO of Argo’s US Operations, CFO of Argo’s Excess & Surplus Lines segment, and Director of Corporate Finance. Prior to joining Argo Group, Oleg was at Bear Stearns Merchant Banking, a middle-market private equity firm, where he worked on growth capital investment opportunities and before that at Bear Stearns’ Financial Institutions Investment Banking group where he assisted with coverage of Argo Group.  Oleg received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, and has attended numerous executive education sessions at Harvard Business School.


Paul Latarche, Co-Founder, RuleBook

Paul is Co-Founder of RuleBook as well as Partner & Head of Insurance at Moore Stephens LLP, the global accountancy firm based in London. RuleBook is a market-leading, multi-award-winning pricing, underwriting and distribution platform built for the insurance industry. Since its beginning in 2012, Paul has been instrumental in its development and it has now grown to be used by over 25% of the Lloyd’s Market.

Having been involved with insurance IT consultancy for almost 20 years, Paul has in-depth industry knowledge working with management information, sales and marketing. Paul is responsible for business development and general consultancy across the firm’s service lines, both in the UK and internationally, and is pivotal in widening Moore Stephens’ international alliances.


Andy Lerner, Managing Partner, IA Capital Group

Andrew Lerner is Managing Partner of IA Capital Group, a fintech/insurtech venture capital firm based in New York. Andy is responsible for the day-to-day activities of IA Capital, and is a member of its investment committee. He is a Director of Homeowners of America Insurance, SMArtX Advisory Solutions, Ceannate, Credibility Capital, Crown Global Insurance Group, Credit Sesame, Wellthie, Boost Insurance USA, and SmartAsset. Previously, Andy was President and Managing Director of Guggenheim Securities and served as an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group of Smith Barney. Mr. Lerner holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Christopher Longo, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, AmTrust Financial Services, Inc.

Christopher M. Longo, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, joined the Company in 2001 and has been Chief Operating Officer since 2016. Mr. Longo served as Chief Information Officer from 2006 – 2017. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Longo served in a number of functions with Credit General Insurance Company including as a commercial lines underwriter, actuarial analyst and regulatory compliance officer.


Alex Maffeo, CEO, Boost Insurance 

Alex Maffeo is the founder and CEO of Boost Insurance - a B2B insurtech development platform built to solve three critical issues faced by entrepreneurs in the insurance industry — (i) the slow go-to-market pace for new products, (ii) the integration and data flow issues experienced between high-tech startups and low-tech insurance companies, and (iii) the cultural disconnect between incumbents and startups. Boost accelerates the go-to-market timeline by providing product development and technology solutions for insurtech startups as well as access to licensed paper and risk capacity. Prior to founding Boost, Alex was a Principal at IA Capital Group - a leading fintech and insurtech-focused venture capital firm in New York City. Alex led insurtech investment efforts at IA and completed multiple portfolio company investments in the space including Sure, Snapsheet, Wellthie, SmartAsset, and Hamilton Insurance Group. 


Gina Papush, ‎Global Chief Data and Analytics Officer, QBE Insurance Group

Gina Papush is recognized for proven leadership and expertise in analytic innovation and data-driven strategies that accelerate business growth in complex environments. During her 20+ year career, she successfully built leading decision analytic and information management capabilities across diverse industries and business models, delivering significant business results.

As a Global Chief Analytics & Data Officer for QBE, Gina is spearheading the development of leading decision support and business optimization capabilities for the firm globally. Prior to joining QBE, Gina was Head of Mortgage Decision Management at Citigroup’s Global Consumer Banking unit and held various leadership positions within financial services and consulting industries. Her experience includes leading customer analytics, research, strategic business and marketing planning for retail banking, credit cards, retail, health care, manufacturing, and entertainment industries. She developed and implemented customer experience, segmentation, database marketing and risk management solutions for PNC Bank, General Electric Credit Services, Lowe’s, HBO, Roche Diagnostics, Whirlpool, and many other companies. She began her career in the field of environmental statistics.

Gina served as a member of Executive Board for Fulcrum Analytics. She holds a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Kharkov University in Ukraine, and an M.S. in Statistics from the University of Maryland, where she also completed her Ph.D. qualifications.


Aviad Pinkovezky, Head of Product, Hippo Insurance

Aviad Pinkovezky is the Head of Product at Hippo Insurance, where he joined the company as employee number 1. Prior to Hippo, Aviad was Sr. Product Manager at LinkedIn (where he led and grew its Company Page ecosystem by nearly 300%), and before that he spent 10 years as an officer in the Israeli Military Intelligence, working closely with engineers and military product managers. Aviad holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Andrew Robinson, Executive in Residence, Oak HC/FT

Andrew Robinson joined Oak HC/FT as an Executive in Residence (EIR) in 2017.  He focuses on  developing insurance technology businesses through a combination of building from scratch and new investments in early and growth-stage companies.

Andrew has more than 30 years of global experience in strategy consulting and executive operating roles in the insurance and financial services industry.  Andrew served as Global Chief Operating Officer and EVP for Crawford & Company, the largest independent claims services company, where he oversaw Crawford’s four businesses with revenues of $1.1BN and 8000 employees.  Prior to Crawford & Company, Andrew served as President Specialty Insurance, EVP Corporate Development and Chief Risk Officer for The Hanover Insurance Group, a $5.5BN international property and casualty insurer.  Previously, Andrew was a Managing Director, Global Insurance and head of Strategy Competency at Diamond Consulting (now PwC Consulting).  Early in his career, Andrew was the Principal and Co-founder of Exchange Partners, a management consultancy and technology company and was a Senior Manager working in Boston and London at Symmetrix Incorporated, a management consultancy focused on operations improvement and re-engineering.

Andrew currently serves on three boards, Terrene Labs, Groundspeed and WeGoLook and has served on Chaucer, Breckenridge Insurance Services and Brainspark. He is also on the advisory board for Wellnest.

Andrew received his Bachelor of Science Degrees with Honors in Mathematics and Computer Science from Clarkson University.


Barney Schauble
, Managing Partner, Nephila

Barney joined Nephila in 2004 as a Managing Principal and moved to San Francisco in 2010 to set up Nephila Advisors, LLC. He is also a Director of Nephila Capital Ltd. and Nephila Holdings Ltd. His primary responsibilities include investor relations, strategic and business development projects and oversight of Nephila’s weather fund.

Barney began working in re/insurance in New York in 1993 as a broker for Marsh and Guy Carpenter. He left in 1996 to join Goldman, Sachs & Co. in their Risk Markets group, where he spent six years working on development and distribution of catastrophe and weather-linked products. Barney joined XL Capital in 2003 and was head of marketing for the weather risk management business.

Barney attended Harvard College and received his B.A. in Economics in 1995; he wrote his senior thesis to explore investing in bonds linked to property catastrophe reinsurance risk. He served as a Director of The Climate Corporation (2007-20012), and MetroMile (2009-2011). He has been a Director of Ceres (a non-profit devoted to sustainable capitalism) since 2011 and a Director of Advisen Ltd (an insurance analytics business) since 2014.


Ben Sloop
, President, AmWINS Access

Benjamin R. Sloop has served as president of our small business division, AmWINS Access, since its inception in January 2015. With his expertise in technology, operations, sales and finance, Ben has helped build this unique and differentiated segment of AmWINS. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Harvard, he began his career in management consulting at Bain & Company, and then joined Parthenon Capital, a private equity fund, where he worked on the AmWINS capital raise in 2005. The following year, he joined AmWINS in an M&A role. He left AmWINS in late 2007 to attend Stanford Business School. Ben worked for Bills.com, a Silicon Valley start-up, until October 2011 when he joined AmWINS once again.


Scott Whitehead, Managing Director, Markel Digital

Scott joined Markel after graduating with a bachelor of science in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech. After spending a few years in marketing & advertising, Scott transitioned into an underwriting role for Essex Insurance Company. He was later the Territory Underwriting Manager for Florida and then promoted to Director of Underwriting & Production for the Southeast region of Markel Wholesale. Scott joined the Product Line Leadership team in 2012 as Managing Director of Binding Authority. He later transitioned to an enterprise risk management role for Markel Specialty Commercial and is now Managing Director of the newly formed Markel Digital. Markel Digital was established earlier this year to partner with insurtech companies focused on digital distribution, new product development, increased efficiencies and optimizing the customer experience.


Rick Zullo, Principal, Lightbank

Rick is a Principal at Lightbank, an early-stage venture firm that has invested and incubated in over 100 companies since 2010. Rick focuses exclusively on enterprise software, investing in industry leading companies like Riskmatch (acquired by Vertafore), Rigup, Neumob, Catalytic, Expel and Vettery. Prior to Lightbank, Rick worked with investment firms Foundation Capital, Bowery Capital, First Round Capital and Lightview Capital. Rick began his career as a strategy consultant with Deloitte before co-founding a digital loyalty and analytics software company. Rick also serves on the Investment Committee for NU Seeds, a venture fund dedicated to student entrepreneurs from Northwestern University, and is a Partner with Social Venture Partners Chicago, a non-profit venture philanthropy organization. Rick graduated with honors from Columbia Business School and received his Bachelors from the University of Richmond.
