Inaki Berenguer
, CEO and Co-Founder, CoverWallet

Inaki is cofounder and CEO of CoverWallet, a tech startup reinventing insurance for small businesses. CoverWallet started in NY in 2015 and has raised over $12M from top VCs and currently employs 100 people mainly in digital marketing, product, engineering and design roles.

Before he was cofounder and CEO of Contactive, a big data platform acquired by Thinkingphones. Prior to that he was cofounder and CEO of Pixable (50 employees, 10 million users), a tech startup acquired for $30MM by SingTel. He has also worked at McKinsey & Co and Microsoft Corporate Strategy. 

Inaki completed Master and PhD degrees in Engineering at Cambridge University (UK), an MBA at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and spent two years as a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University, NY.


Max Chee, Head of Technology Growth, Aquiline Capital Partners

Max joined Aquiline in 2017 and heads Aquiline Technology Growth. He has over 17 years of private equity and venture capital investing experience. Prior to Aquiline, Max was a Managing Partner at Millennium Technology Value Partners, where he led more than 20 investments at all stages across consumer, enterprise, and financial technology, from early growth to pre-IPO companies. Previously, he led technology growth investments for Mellon's Private Equity Group and worked at Salomon Brothers in the Financial Institutions Group in New York and Corporate Finance in Hong Kong. Max is a member of the Board of Directors of Carpe Data. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's University in Canada and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.


Andy Lerner, Managing Partner, IA Capital Group

Andrew Lerner is Managing Partner of IA Capital Group, a fintech/insurtech venture capital firm based in New York. Andy is responsible for the day-to-day activities of IA Capital, and is a member of its investment committee. He is a Director of Homeowners of America Insurance, SMArtX Advisory Solutions, Ceannate, Credibility Capital, Crown Global Insurance Group, Credit Sesame, Wellthie, Boost Insurance USA, and SmartAsset. Previously, Andy was President and Managing Director of Guggenheim Securities and served as an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group of Smith Barney. Mr. Lerner holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University and an M.B.A. in Finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.


Aviad Pinkovezky, Head of Product, Hippo Insurance

Aviad Pinkovezky is the Head of Product at Hippo Insurance, where he joined the company as employee number 1. Prior to Hippo, Aviad was Sr. Product Manager at LinkedIn (where he led and grew its Company Page ecosystem by nearly 300%), and before that he spent 10 years as an officer in the Israeli Military Intelligence, working closely with engineers and military product managers. Aviad holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Barney Schauble
, Managing Partner, Nephila

Barney joined Nephila in 2004 as a Managing Principal and moved to San Francisco in 2010 to set up Nephila Advisors, LLC. He is also a Director of Nephila Capital Ltd. and Nephila Holdings Ltd. His primary responsibilities include investor relations, strategic and business development projects and oversight of Nephila’s weather fund.

Barney began working in re/insurance in New York in 1993 as a broker for Marsh and Guy Carpenter. He left in 1996 to join Goldman, Sachs & Co. in their Risk Markets group, where he spent six years working on development and distribution of catastrophe and weather-linked products. Barney joined XL Capital in 2003 and was head of marketing for the weather risk management business.

Barney attended Harvard College and received his B.A. in Economics in 1995; he wrote his senior thesis to explore investing in bonds linked to property catastrophe reinsurance risk. He served as a Director of The Climate Corporation (2007-20012), and MetroMile (2009-2011). He has been a Director of Ceres (a non-profit devoted to sustainable capitalism) since 2011 and a Director of Advisen Ltd (an insurance analytics business) since 2014.


Ben Sloop
, President, AmWINS Access

Benjamin R. Sloop has served as president of our small business division, AmWINS Access, since its inception in January 2015. With his expertise in technology, operations, sales and finance, Ben has helped build this unique and differentiated segment of AmWINS. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Harvard, he began his career in management consulting at Bain & Company, and then joined Parthenon Capital, a private equity fund, where he worked on the AmWINS capital raise in 2005. The following year, he joined AmWINS in an M&A role. He left AmWINS in late 2007 to attend Stanford Business School. Ben worked for Bills.com, a Silicon Valley start-up, until October 2011 when he joined AmWINS once again.
